More about Kelly

My professional journey

I trained in psychology in London — a BSc in Psychology at London Metropolitan University, followed by an MA in Special Education at the University of East London, where my dissertation examined self-efficacy and loneliness in children with learning difficulties.

My clinical work began in Greece. I started at a treatment centre for autistic children in Chalkida and went on to a state day-centre for autistic children and adolescents in Athens, working on communication development with the TEACCH approach, sensory integration, and the patient work of strengthening the relationship between a parent and a child who communicates differently.

Since 2017 I have worked in Munich: first as a psychological specialist in a Montessori setting, then at the Autism Competence Centre Upper Bavaria (autkom, kbo), preparing diagnostic assessments and delivering autism-specific parenting guidance. From 2020 to 2024 I was a full-time psychologist with the Caritas Association of the Archdiocese of Munich and Freising, in the psychological specialist service for the District of Upper Bavaria and the Youth Welfare Office. Since November 2025 I have been the school psychologist at Derksen Gymnasium in Munich.

I am currently in the practicum year of a four-year, EABCT-accredited training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy with the Hellenic Society for Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy.

Autism and ADHD

Neurodiversity has been the thread through my whole career — fifteen years of it, across two countries and both ends of the age range.

With children, much of the work is practical and collaborative: making sense of a diagnostic picture, building communication where speech is limited, and helping a school understand what a particular child actually needs. With parents it is often about recovering confidence after a long period of being told, implicitly, that they are doing it wrong.

Adults come for different reasons. Many were never identified as children, and arrive after years of being treated for anxiety or low mood without anyone asking why focus, organisation or social energy have always cost them disproportionately. Naming that accurately is frequently the most useful part of the work.

You can read more on our ADHD support page.

Children, parents and families

I work with the family, not only the child. In practice that means parent counselling alongside sessions with the child, structured parenting guidance, and — where it helps — group programmes.

A school psychologist's week also teaches you how much sits outside the consulting room: a pupil in crisis, a teacher who needs a different strategy by Monday, a family where the academic problem turns out to be the smallest part of what is going on. I bring that same breadth to private work.

See child & adolescent therapy for how sessions are usually structured.

How I work

My training is cognitive behavioural, and I am completing the four-year EABCT-accredited programme now. Alongside it I draw on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), schema-focused work, and — with autistic children — structured approaches such as TEACCH, PECS and elements of ABA.

What I offer is psychological counselling and guidance outside the scope of medical treatment. Where someone needs psychiatric or medical care, I will say so and help arrange it rather than work around it.

Languages and living abroad

I grew up in Greece, studied in London and have lived in Munich since 2017, so I have made the move myself — twice. I work in Greek, English and German (C1), and a good part of my practice is with international families raising children between two languages and two school systems.

Sessions are available in Munich and online.
